I am MJ Fan, not MJ Fan Forever – get your facts right. I am not a bad loser as I am also a fan of Elvis Presley and I have every song he ever recorded and all his movies. The fact is that MJ was of my generation and his music had more meaning for me, and I have seen him perform live and enjoyed the performance. I just don’t believe that cheating is the way to a fair win and it does not give a true reflection of people’s preferences. So yes, in that way, I do agree with MJ Fan Forever.

Actually, if you had watched “This Is It”, MJ wanted his concert performances to sound like his albums, especially on the songs that he felt were fan favourites. MJ was one of the few performers who sounded just as good live as he did on his studio albums. Elvis was another if his concert DVD’s are anything to go by. Savage Garden, John Farnham, Olivia Newton-John and Keith Urban are also highly accomplished in this, just to name a few. Some have it and some don’t. I have a few more years on you. I am 51 and was 7 when I first saw MJ (the “I’ll Be There” film clip on American Bandstand). I have been a fan of MJ’s ever since. I saw him as a very lonely boy singing and dancing with his big brothers, but still enjoying himself. I always saw Michael as a very lonely person and it was that loneliness that I identified with, which explains why his music had so much meaning for me. It was an absolute delight to see him perform live and an unforgettable experience to actually meet him and talk to him. He has been in my life for as long as I can remember and I miss him very much. I will be a forever fan also – to my dying day. It lifts my heart to know that he is still winning the hearts of younger fans. Yes, a lot of people felt connected to MJ and I think it was because his songs were very emotional and touched on many issues that people could personally relate to. He was a promoter of many causes and issues. His aim was to raise peoples awareness on what was going on around them and move them to take a look at themselves and get involved in change for the betterment of all. This was something that he and I actually spoke about when I met him. Gone was the shy person when we got onto the topic of world issues that were important to him, and to me. He became very animated on this topic. He was a very intelligent and knowledgeable person. When I met him I knew I chose the right role model all those years ago when I needed someone to show me a different way of life. He and I come from a similar background and it was his example that I followed and in time I became a Social Worker specialising in working with victims of abuse and youth deviance. Don’t listen to what the haters say. Just listen to your heart 🙂

I am with MJ Fan Forever – if you have to cheat to get your favourite artist (no matter who it is – Elvis or MJ) the title then those cheating obviously don’t have a strong belief in that artist that they could win on their merits alone.
