  1. 459, 000 copies in the US for “Xscape” is not even gold. It would have to have sold 500, 000 to get certification. From the low figures you yourself posted, “Xscape” had poor sales. We all know that it left the worldwide charts in a very brief 6 weeks. Sony was definitely extremely disappointed.

Wacky Jackson is not going platinum anywhere on planet earth.

Why “Xscape” still managed to go gold worldwide is a head stratcher. It is probably because Sony spent millions promoting the dud, but obviously lost money. Of course, Prince’s “The Very Best Of Prince” is a multiple platinum million seller. However, you tell yourself that Prince has no impact. Stay in Wacky Jacky fantasy land of delusions. We all know that Prince is very easily destroying the dirty dancer in sales. We can read.

  2. So you expected Prince to chart all 50 titles of deleted releases that are no longer available for purchase?

He could only chart with tiles in circulation. Unlike Michael Jackson’s massed produced crapola, Prince is a full priced artist. Some releases have value and are quite rare. Nevertheless, Prince was still able to chart 5 CD’s in the top ten worldwide, and chart 19 CD’s overall. That is more than Wacky has in his whole entire catalogue. Again, you do not want to give Prince credit ’cause you know he slaughtered Michael Jackson. Cover your eyes and ears to the truth, and tell yourself that Prince is not selling.

In reality, it is Michael Jackson who is not selling. His dated CD’s are bargain bin material, plus his posthumous catalogue is junk. “Xscape” was a piece of rubbish. Everybody knows how bad it was.

    • Everything wacky put out was crap…..from crap music to actually crapping everywhere. Gross!

  3. Both Gene Simmons of the rock band, Kiss and Ted Nugent criticized Prince because of his drug addiction. However, those two has beens will never sell millions of records upon their deaths. Prince was a much bigger artist, more talented and still is a musical genius. It is not hurting Prince’s sales. No one can take meds for pain, and must suffer through it. Of course, it is easy to throw stones @ others. Nevertheless, Prince still was not a criminal. Irrational comments based on jealousy is common. Some do want Prince to have a downgraded legacy over something he could not control?

Addiction happens to millions of people.

  4. Platinum is sales of a million and over. Michael Jackson’s “Xscape” failed to reach platinum certification. We can all read. “The Very Best Of Prince” sold 2x platinum in at least 3 big countries, with smaller countries adding to sales. However, you desire to not give Prince credit for them ’cause he is not Michael Jackson?

    How dense.

  5. Of course, Prince achieved 5 top ten placements on the Billboard album charts worldwide, with “The Very Best Of Prince” becoming another number one opus for the purple one. If it is not the year of Prince, then who did better?

Certainly not Michael Jackson, who can not even go platinum with any of his poor selling posthumous releases, including the heavily promoted “Xscape” album in 2014. Gold is all it could achieve.

Obviously, you expect us to believe that Prince’s drug addiction hurts his sales, but Wacko’s criminal past does not hurt his. You are laughably delusional then.

  6. most artist would be happy with an album like Xscape

but it is after all Miichael Jackson

i wonder if Xscape did better then around the world in a day

we both knew the answer lol

Xscape we all love that album

not gonna talk about that album anymore – boring

          • lol Oh.. I can imagine myself being thus… so.. ??? Oh.. yes, I can. But, I’m not that, for sure! Do you can be able to analize your traits @ yourself? NO, you can’t did it & can’t accept real things @ yourself ! Don’t even try, you’ll not succeed to be honest with yourself ever. lol lol lol but, even you have a chance to try to do a test @ your personality. more & more & more LOL @ YOU!

    Year-end charts[edit]

    Chart (2014)

  10. I assume that Prince hit the charts in other countries besides the US, the UK and Australia. However, those countries are not hightlighted as much. It still adds to sales, especially since Prince has such a large catalogue compared to Michael Jackson. We know that Prince charted a record breaking 14 to 19 titles. But you do not want to give him credit for them?

If he was Michael Jackson, you would be bragging. You are selective on who you want to credit or discredit.

Of course, you want us to believe that Prince is not selling well. You want to only build up Michael Jackson on single digit sales.

“Xscape” only went gold worldwide. We are supposed to ignore reality like Michael Jackson fans do. Sorry, that is not happening.

  11. Funny, 2015 was supposed to be the year of Michael Jackson. Then this year was supposed to be the year of Michael Jackson. When that failed to materialize, 2017 is going to be the year of Michael Jackson.

    On what planet?

    Certainly not earth.

  12. Like “Hot Thing” ……the excellent “Erotic City” was also a B Side number one, but you automatically want us to discount those facts that Prince did go number one with a couple B sides. That’s because Wacko never had number one flips. Of course, that means we can not give Prince credit for them ’cause he is not Michael Jackson?

  13. And yet, it is just fine and dandy for Michael Jackson fans to blatantly lie, cheat and inflate for Wacko. If no one is buying music anymore, the same applies to Michael Jackson, who unlike Prince, is on the bottom of the charts.

Spike Lee’s reissue of “Off The Wall” peaked @ only #61 in the US, and failed to even chart in the rest of the world. “The Very Best Of Prince” still went to #1 versus Jackson’s “Number Ones” that stalled @ a lowly #13, never rising above its laughable peak upon his death in 2009.
